How to Heal Your Gut: Consider Colonics

While your body has natural mechanisms and processes for detoxing, sometimes these systems can feel a bit sluggish, especially when it comes to digestion. Ultimately, poor digestion can lead to:

  • Skin trouble
  • Cramping
  • Bloating
  • Water retention
  • Brain fog
  • Joint pain
  • Inflammation
  • Depression
  • Headaches and more!

There are many ways to jumpstart and clean out your digestive system, but one of my favorite methods is colon hydrotherapy.

Also referred to as a colonic, think about this as a clean flush for your gut. Similar to an enema, a colonic provider will help you get rid of built-up waste and residue by flushing your system with water. Pretty simple. And think about it, many cultures have utilized enemas, even dating back to the ancient Egyptians, to restore health, vitality, and treat illness.

I know, it’s a little gross to think about. But, isn’t the thought of junk and waste just chilling, setting up camp, and moving into your intestines and colon even more disgusting? I mean, think about the food you ate three weeks ago.

Particles of the pizza you had three weeks ago…rotting somewhere in your digestive tract is not a pleasant thought. Your digestive system isn’t built like pipes that make up the plumbing in your house. It’s not all just perfectly smooth surface area. Instead, your intestines have thousands of nooks and crannies, grooves, small pockets, and tiny spaces where toxic junk can get stuck as it moves through your digestive system.

The act of filling your bowels with clean water, holding the water for a bit to give your insides a soak, and then effectively rinsing everything out will help you eliminate some of the really old bits of waste that have made their home in the lining of your colon. Yeah, it gets a bit of a bad reputation for being “icky” but storing that toxic waste is way more disgusting and problematic.

As colonics are intended to give your body a thorough cleaning, I would advise staying very hydrated both before and after. Be sure to get some powerful probiotics in you afterward to restore a healthy bacterial balance. And while you don’t need to constantly be getting colonics, they are a really useful tool for helping your body detox and recharge, getting those stagnant bits of waste out of there!

You’re Full of SH*T: Why Prioritizing Gut Health Is Essential

I know what I am about to tell you might be a strange visual image but hear me out. Your gut is your second brain. The two organs have different, but overlapping functions to keep you healthy and happy. Everything in the human body is connected in some way, and there is no better example than the link between your brain and your gut.

If you experience any of the following on the regular:

  • Brain fog
  • Fatigue
  • Poor digestion
  • Bloating
  • Migraines
  • Depression
  • Inflammation and joint pain

…may all be rooted in an unhealthy gut! Think about it like this – if your body is holding on to waste and toxins in your digestive system and gut, that junk is effectively circulating throughout your whole body via your bloodstream.

Our bodies are made to deal with and filter out toxins, but when waste is languishing in your intestines, colon, and digestive system due to unhealthy gut function, you are making your body work way too hard. This takes a toll over time, potentially causing all those unpleasant symptoms.

These symptoms are responses to the waste trapped in your body. When you have less waste in your digestive system all of your organs – including your brain – can spend more time operating perfectly, thereby eliminating some of those difficult symptoms caused by an unhealthy gut. The waste sitting in your body just weighs you down – literally!?

Getting your body to work better, instead of harder, requires some extra TLC for your gut. Taking steps toward better gut health includes getting good probiotics, colonics (they are not scary – I swear!), moving your body, eating a gut-friendly diet, and boosting detox functions. Taking the time to set yourself up with healthy gut treatments and adjusting your diet will do wonders for your gut and therefore your overall well being! Ensuring you have a symbiotic balance in your body starts with prioritizing your gut!

So many symptoms that people experience could be and probably are related to gut health and can be resolved with holistic care as opposed to pharmaceuticals. Not only can medication be expensive, but sometimes its side effects don’t make us feel so hot. If any of these symptoms sound familiar, I would encourage you to start by focusing on effectively healing your gut to improve your wellbeing.

I’ve been through and am still on the gut-healing journey! I’ve met so many caring, knowledgeable experts along the way, and I am so looking forward to sharing their wisdom with you. If this sounds like the type of action you want to get in on, check out my amazing new Yoga Prehab Membership (where I take time to highlight the best in holistic gut care, along with other essential wellness wisdom!

I have been putting in work on this unique Physical Therapy-Based Yoga, HIIT, and Body-Saving Solutions, and cannot wait to guide you to better health, mobility, and vitality throughout this year!

La Vie en Rose: Why You Should Be Drinking Rose Tea ASAP

Is the hype over rose-infused items qualified? Especially rose tea, I mean, is that even necessary?

In so many words, yes and definitely!

Tea made from the petals and buds of roses deserves a spot in your tea stash. I believe it also serves as a perfectly pleasant, warming, and relaxing tea for the winter season. In addition to feeling fancy and luxurious, rose tea actually has some excellent benefits for your body – 2020 and beyond!

Ingredients drawn from members of the rosa botanical family are notoriously powerful for their soothing and moisturizing qualities. Similarly to how rosehip seed oil and rosewater blends can effectively provide moisturize for combination skin, rose tea can help hydrate your skin from the inside out as well.

The antioxidants found in rosa plants are typically used to combat acne and soothe the skin in various external body-suitable products, but there are similar results can also be achieved when the rose petals and rosebuds are brewed, steeped, and consumed as a tea.

Rose tea, first of all, smells divine. Smelling and sipping it aids almost immediately in relaxation. Additionally, it can be soothing for your nervous and digestive systems, sometimes getting your digestion back in gear, and even helping to regulate imbalances in your central nervous systems.

As a digestive aid, rose tea is also effective as a detox infusion – and one that actually tastes good. I think probably we have all been there – with a tea or herbal infusion that is great for our kidneys, liver, digestion, but tastes…tough. These teas are great to get down and really get a strong cleanse, but maybe not every day.

Rose tea, on the other hand, is delicious, soothing, and a completely manageable daily detox for your body. A drink you can look forward to brewing, inhaling, and sipping, I can assure you!

Rose is also rumored to have a certain aphrodisiac quality to it, so hey, maybe it’s a good thing to try out for Valentine’s Day if nothing else?

Rose tea on its own is fairly fragrant, floral, and somewhat sweet, but you can always add a sweetener if you’d like. My choice would be honey, which always offers a nicely balanced addition of sweetness, plus antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

On its own, it is naturally decaffeinated, but you can find it mixed with black or white tea blends if you are looking for a little added kick.

Tea Sparrow has an amazing tea blend called Moments which features rosebuds, perfectly paired with a light aromatic black tea base to elevate the soft and luxurious flavor of the rose, raspberry, and subtleties of mango. It’s both warm and reminiscent of tropical flavors, making it a nice winter pick me up.

In addition to getting some new teas into your healthy, warming, delicious beverage rotation, I would love if you shared your New Year, New You goals with me on Instagram! I love answering your questions, so please give me a shout if there is anything you need to succeed.

What Are Chakras And How Are They Related To Your Wellbeing?

So, you have probably heard the word “chakra” before – am I right? It’s definitely a word that gets thrown around a lot, but what are they, and what are they connected to exactly?

The word chakra (pronounced cha-kra) in Sanskrit means a “disk” or “orb,” and refers to the seven energy centers that are found in the human body, along the spine and up through the top of the head. These energy centers not only correspond to emotional aspects of our lives, to organs and certain areas of the body, but are also closely intertwined with our nervous systems. Chakras are essentially points at which human bodies have large networks of nerve bundles.

Even though the concept of chakras was derived from Vedic teachings dating back to 50 B.C. and from historical Ayurvedic practice, it actually blends perfectly with what modern, Western medicine knows today to be true. Vedic teachings illustrate the way in which chakras, when open, create a healthy flow of energy that creates balance, overall wellness, and vitality in a person. These areas of chakra placement are actually correlated to key points in your nervous system. Cool, I know!

Now that you know how they are related to an intrinsic part of your body – the nervous system – let’s cover where and what the seven chakras actually are…

Root Chakra

Also known as the Muladhara (moo-lah-dar-ah) or the first chakra, it can be thought of as “rooting” you to safety and security, and is found in the area around the lowest part of your spine, near your bladder, and colon. Like roots that hold a tree in the ground, the root chakra is all about standing tall and proud as we exist in the world. When this chakra is open, you may feel brave, safe, secure, and more ready for new things.

Sacral Chakra

Found below your navel, but above your pubic bone the Svadhisthana (swa-dhi-shtah-na), or second chakra, is the center of your sexual and creative energies. When this chakra is open, you may feel extra passionate and possess a strong willingness or drive to express yourself in creative forms.

Solar Plexus Chakra

The Manipura (ma-ni-poo-rah), third chakra is found in your core, between your navel and your breastbone. The word Manipura in Sanskrit translates to “luminous gem” and is believed to ignite your personal source of power. This makes sense, as when we think about core strength we think about the part of our body that gives us the most power, as well as the ability to stand strong and tall. When this chakra is open you may feel confident and strong in all you do!

Heart Chakra

Located in the center of your chest, nearly in the middle of your spine is the fourth chakra, anahata (ah-na-ha-tah). This fourth chakra connects the emotional, physical, mindful, and spiritual qualities of a person. It also acts as a source of connection between what are thought of as the three “lower” energies, chakras 1-3, and the “higher” energies, chakras 5-7. When your heart chakra is open you may feel very connected to others, open to love, and more drawn toward compassion.

Throat Chakra

The Vishuddha (vi-shoo-dah) chakra is the fifth chakra, and encompasses the area around your throat. This chakra is associated with communication and vocal expression. This chakra also includes the thyroid, mouth, jaw, and tongue. When your throat chakra is open you may feel more empowered to share opinions, communicate openly, and speak your truth more freely.

Third Eye Chakra

The sixth chakra, Ajna (ah-jnah), is between the eyebrows, in the space between your eyes. Ajna is the energy center that guides your intuition, or your power to know and perceive things in and about the world. When this chakra is open you may be more inclined to listen to your intuition and allow your internal knowledge to guide you through the world.

Crown Chakra

The seventh chakra, Sahaswara (sa-ha-srA-ra), can be found at the crown, or very top of your head. This is the chakra of spiritual thought and connection with ourselves, the world around us, and divinity or higher spirituality. When this chakra is open – which can be difficult to maintain all the time – you may feel at your most creative capacity, capable of feeling your highest level of understanding and spirituality.

Stick With It: How to Actually Achieve Your New Year Goals

Welcome to 2020! Anyone else feeling some new decade, new attitude vibes? Just me? It can’t be!

Well, congratulations to you – you arrived here in 2020 with your health and I’m sure you are ready to make amazing things happen in 2020 for your wellbeing and mobility. Luckily, you are in the right spot!

Whatever it is that you want to accomplish and whatever it is that you want your life to look like, I am here for it. I morphed my career into something I am extremely, extremely passionate about – helping people live pain-free, more comfortable lives through body-saving yoga and mobility techniques.

My wish for you this new year is better mobility, better health, and more fun! Sometimes though, the buzz around the new year, the pressure you place on yourself to achieve insane goals, can honestly make January stressful AF. I want you to know that you can seek joy, accomplish your goals, and be a happier, healthier you without stressing yourself out this month.

Pick One Thing
Don’t try to do multiple things. Please, please, please! ?? You will be exhausted. Pick one thing and focus on that for 30 full days. Trying to exercise, drink green tea, eat healthy, meal prep, do an hour of meditation, listen to 5 podcasts, read a book, learn a language, and groom your cat each and every day is madness. You will tire yourself out almost immediately, I can assure you.

Choose what you want to focus on improving, and chase it. Trying to multitask and implement a bunch of new habits all at once isn’t sustainable. Pick your thing, commit to it for 30 days, and enjoy the results you see from your brand new habit!

Keep It Tidy
I’m not suggesting that you clean your place meticulously every single day, but sometimes clutter has a way of making you feel more frazzled or overwhelmed than is necessary. Do your best to keep your spaces organized through the week, which will free up more time and energy to focus on your goal and even spend some extra time on very necessary and well-deserved self-care!

Stay Engaged
Forming new habits always works a little better if you are able to stay engaged. I’ve never felt motivated to stick with something if I find myself super bored, so I know you might find it challenging too! If you can learn something new that helps you with your wellness journey, that will keep it interesting for 30 days and beyond!

Okay, so maybe you have yet to arrange your New Year’s fitness and wellness plans. That’s okay, that is literally what I am here for! I, your trusted partner in badassery!

New decade, naturally I am going big with a tremendous BOGO SPECIAL! But, this offer will only be available for just a few more days:

These are my two favorite courses EVER and more than anything I want to help you start strong in 2020 with more mobility and less pain, learning something fun and exciting each day.

3 simple ways to stay committed to living your best life in 2020

It’s a new decade (wow, excuse me, whaaat??), a new year, and OMG a brand new you, too?!

The new year is such an empowering time. People are into their health and wellness goals, feeling hopeful, have had a lovely festive time and then…what happens again…?

Oh, yeah. Life happens. So how can you stay committed to living your best life, even in spite of, ya know, normal life things happening all around you? Here are some tips that I have long advised patients, clients, and students on to guide them to successful habit shifting and killer, killer results on their journey.

Sustainability = Success

Regardless of your best intentions, it’s really hard to go from 0 to 100 real, real quick. If yoga, working out, and mobility training are new to you, that’s okay! But, be sure you are setting a reasonable goal for yourself.

Life is already a lot to handle. So many random struggles and annoying things — Can I get an AMEN? You really do not need to make your life harder. This is why I have structured my courses and free videos with a realistic progression to help you build new habits that you can easily stick with. Not diving in with an hour per day, every day. That’s too much (and honestly, who has the time?!)

You want to think in terms of what is sustainable for you, your life, and your schedule, not make a plan around what sounds good in theory, but will actually make your life difficult.

Rest Up

Truthfully, your body really does need rest. If you tucker yourself out and exhaust yourself doing 3 hour workouts every day two weeks you are going to:

  1. A) hurt yourself and
  2. B) need a full week to recover from that crazy “training.”

This is not a healthy option, nor is it sustainable. Make sure that you are resting and recharging, especially if you are working out and activating new muscles. We do not need to go hard every day of the week.

Just Keep Moving

No matter what your health and wellness goals are if you want to improve your comfort, quality of life, range of motion, and mobility you need to keep moving. Even if you’re not doing a full workout every day, you can always do something quick like this Heart Reset Flow to keep your joints and muscles from getting stiff or cramped.

Desk jobs, long commutes, and more may be keeping you somewhat immobile, but you want mobility and decreased tension so do the grapevine in the hallway, moonwalk to the water cooler, get creative!

Do whatever it takes to keep active and move a little more each and every day. Soon, it will be habitual to make sure your body is grooving daily.

And of course, don’t forget about the incredible BOGO SPECIAL I’m offering this month:

When you purchase my 30 Day Total Body Makeover you will also receive the 7 Day Chakra Cleanse (a $197 Value) completely free!

Suitable for any and all levels of skill, these two courses will 100 percent launch a new YOU this new year!  These are my two favorite courses EVER and I want to see you ROCK your 2020 EDITION BADASS SELF!  YASSS!

GET ON IT!  SALE ENDS JANUARY 7, 2020!

As we get ready to rock 2020, the best New Year’s gift you can give me is to say hello on Instagram and let me know how I can help you live your best life! I’m here for you and completely committed to helping you succeed, and I can’t wait to see the amazing progress you will make in 2020!

New Year, Who Dis? How to eliminate pain and start feeling amazing in 2020

Raise your hand if you have ever been prevented from doing something because of pain?

Oh, I see you. You raised your hand, right?

When you’re uncomfortable, for a short while or chronically, it’s not always easy to say “yes” to everything enthusiastically. Sometimes even small nagging pains make going for a walk, spending the day with friends, working out, or getting cozy so difficult.

And I understand. With that comes frustration, fear of missing out, and just feeling very…blah. Dealing with discomfort can be really discouraging.

The bottom line is that no one likes being uncomfortable and no one enjoys being inhibited from living their lives. And thankfully, there is no need for it to be that way.

I have so many clients and students who have experienced incredible results after putting in just a little extra time to really stretch and heal in a safe way. My methodology is not just about yoga, although yes, yoga is amazing. It’s about using yoga and physical therapy techniques to heal your aches and pains in the most effective way.

If you’re ready to shimmy your way into 2020 with a “New Year, Who Dis?” attitude then you are absolutely in the right place! Congratulations, you made it!

So, what are the very first steps you need to take to eliminate pain and start loving life in 2020?

First, let’s talk about shifting your focus. If you’re constantly dwelling on how much pain you are in and how much tension you are feeling, that can make it really hard to relax. It might sound silly, and I know pain can be an overwhelming sensation, but relaxing even in the face of pain is an important step toward allowing yourself to fully heal.

Try this…

Take a really deep breath in, and as you exhale visualize yourself relaxing. Know that everything is going to be okay. You are going to be okay.

Continue to inhale deeply, acknowledging the areas and places where you are experiencing pain, and as you exhale completely and empty out your lungs, be conscious of softening into a place of relaxation.

In this more relaxed state, I guarantee that you will be able to think more positively about educating yourself and gifting yourself with greater mobility and greater comfort. You can do this and you will do this!

Next, get into the new year groove (new decade groove to be more accurate) by spending some time with me and this healing, restorative Heart Reset Flow to shake off 2019 and get ready to make 2020 your…BFF! This flow is for all levels of skill, and designed to get you into a clear, peaceful state of mind.

2020? You got this on lock!

I warmly invite you to join me for any videos on my YouTube channel that speak to you and what you need most. Always, always feel free to reach out to me should you need any guidance or advice.

YASSS!

How to Fix Your Tension Headache Fast

Hmmm, maybe your house is really loud right about now? Or maybe your holiday travel or jetlag left you with a headache?

Whatever the reason, having a headache is decidedly not a great way to enjoy the holidays.

So, let’s fix that tension headache of yours and let’s do it quickly!

First, grab a soothing essential oil (if you have some – the doTERRA brand is my fav right now). Lavender oil works really well and has a wonderfully relaxing scent. Eucalyptus and peppermint are also great for muscle relaxation and tension relief, in addition to having stronger smells that can work to clear out your sinuses. Smelling the essential oils, rubbing a few diluted drops on your scalp, and even placing a bit above your ears (avoid your eyes) close to your temples, can have an immediate calming and cooling effect. Note: Always dilute your oils with a carrier oil to protect the skin!

Hear me out on this one…I know it’s not an essential oil, but if you have Tiger Balm lying around, rub a tiny bit on the area just behind your temples, being careful to not get it anywhere near your eye (or on any pillows or clothes – it can stain).

Get out of direct light if you can. Cover your eyes comfortably, turn down the lights, and take a few deep, slow breaths. Turning down the lights will help ease your headache if it is causing you to feel sensitive to light, and avoiding your computer and phone screens will help decrease the straining of your eyes. Slowing down the pace of your breath can help soothe the nervous system, making it easier for your body to be more receptive to decompressing and relaxing.

Your shoulders and suboccipital muscles all tie into the base of the skull, so when there is long-term tension, pressure, twisting, and unnatural strain, you may feel shooting pain around or behind your eyes or near the back and side of your head.

Do this easy, breezy, super soothing tension headache fix with me and in under 15 minutes you will be well on your way to feeling back to your old self. No more stabbing or shooting pains in your head, neck, or behind your eyes!  Note: Feel free to turn the brightness down on your screen when you watch. This definitely helps!

I invite you to circle back to this tension headache fix each and every time you start feeling any sort of headache creeping up on you, and share with anyone you know you may be dealing with similar discomfort. There is no reason to keep suffering!

If you’re suffering from chronic neck pain, tension, eyestrain, fatigue, and low energy, try out my Text Neck mini-course before you invest tons of time and money going to countless physical therapy appointments. Get The Text Neck Fix and start healing safely and immediately (71% off for a limited time)!

Try these effective tension headache treatments whenever you’re facing that painful, nagging ache and please be sure to check in with me and let me know what worked best for you!

Stay well, free of tension headaches, and enjoy your holidays!

The 4 Most Effective Methods for Tension Relief

Tension can strike at any time of year, am I right? Any time, any season, any given day your body may feel tight and tense, leaving you uncomfortable. Maybe you’re finding its worse during the winter or even just during this hectic holiday season. Whenever you’re feeling tense, put these methods to good use to experience some fast-acting relief for all your tension symptoms!

Stretch It Out

As a Physical Therapist Assistant over the last 7 years,  I have always told all my patients to take the time to stretch, no matter when or where. And now, I am telling you! Push whatever fears or concerns about looking awkward aside and get down to business by stretching anywhere and anytime you feel necessary.

You can make stretching look good, I swear. Honestly, whoever has the pleasure of seeing you will probably just assume you’re an athletic person, doing normal things that athletic people do. So go for it! I always celebrate anyone I see on the street stretching and releasing discomfort. Stretching is something everyone needs in order to stay healthy and maintain their best mobility.

Sip, Sip

Sipping on a soothing beverage has powerful benefits for both mind and body. Mint, lavender, or chamomile are all teas that are well known for their calming properties and relaxing scents, but one of my personal favorites is rooibos. I love rooibos for it’s delicious, warming, fragrant qualities, but also because it is beneficial for blood pressure and circulation.

A lot of tension and inflammation problems can be caused or worsened by poor circulation, and oftentimes when you feel super stressed you’re blood pressure and heart rate are probably higher than normal. Rooibos works to lower blood pressure, helping relieve problematic manifestations of tension and stress in the body. My favorite rooibos blends are from Tea Sparrow; they come up with the most inventive, healthy, and delicious flavor pairings each and every month.

Turn Up The Heat

Heat can be a great way to combat tension throughout various muscle groups in the body. If you have access to a sauna or steam room, those are great options, but you can also achieve the same results by taking a warm, luxurious shower or bath. You can even heat things up internally by doing a quick, energetic yoga sequence (with me)!

Special Neck-nique

Sometimes tension that originates in the neck will be symptomatic as pain in your shoulders and head. Nowadays with everyone straining their necks working at computers and looking at their phones, it is so important to address neck pain quickly and consistently. Letting neck pain linger can cause chronic headaches and migraines as well as knots and prolonged tension in your shoulders and back.

I’ve observed this evolving trend of increasing neck trouble throughout my career, and love teaching people new techniques to get their necks right.

Try this in just three easy steps:

  1. Sitting on a chair or on the ground, stretch your left arm down by your side
  2. Then, tilt your head to the right until you feel a nice, gentle stretch along the left side of your neck
  3. Hold for 20 seconds or more, and then switch and do the other side

Super, simple stretches like this have a tremendous benefit when done consistently. To really get to the root of tension extending from your neck, get The Text Neck Fix, which I created as a tool you can use literally anywhere to quickly and effectively relieve neck pain and improve your posture (mega bonus -it’s currently on sale, because I love you all so, so much)!

3 Tips for Healthy, Painless Travel

The traffic and travel delays around the holidays can be brutal, meaning longer travel times, more time sitting in cramped spaces, and more tension and discomfort for you. Do not fear, Tristan is here! And I’m sharing with you the easiest precautionary measures and quick fixes for the most common travel-related ailments.

Tip 1: Quench Your Thirst

Staying properly hydrated is essential for what seems like countless reasons. One reason that is maybe not as intuitive is that having enough water in your system will actually help your joints stay lubricated and help you avoid inflammation and stiffness. This will naturally help you feel less creaky and squeaky when you hop out of the car or off the plane.

Tip 2: Soothe Your Skin

You all know that the air on a plane is drier than a stale rice cake. Drinking enough water will ensure that your skin stays luminous and doesn’t risk drying out, especially if you are headed to a colder climate. One practice that people often get confused about though is how to properly hydrate your skin on a flight.

I sometimes see people spritzing their faces – I love a good face mist, but please save it for when you get off the plane! Water sitting on your face will be evaporated by the dry air, and will take even more moisture from your skin along with it. Full disclosure I am not exactly a scientist, I’m trained in physical therapy, but this is how evaporation works, my friends!

Try instead to get a good layer or two of something super hydrating on your face, neck, even your hands. Opt for a non-greasy oil, serum, or super thick moisturizing cream or mask that smells nice and soothing for your flight. This will leave you feeling dewy and much less prone to breakouts. You’ll safely avoid disembarking with dry, itchy, irritated skin.

Tip 3: Flawless Flexing

Are your hips tight, stiff, creaky, or sore from a long car ride or sitting on a plane? In addition to hydrating properly (not with airline wine, I’m talking w-a-t-e-r) here are some simple mobility tips to maintain fluidity in your joints, and get your muscles flexing flawlessly:

  • Take a spin around the plane, strut your stuff down the aisle, just get your muscles moving for a few minutes and out of whatever cramped seated position you’ve been forced into. Stretch your arms a bit if you are able. This will prevent your joints from locking into an uncomfortable position, potentially leaving you achy.
  • Stretch your neck to the right, hold for 10-20 seconds and repeat on the left side. Even the simplest stretching and basic movement can help avoid getting those annoying cramps in your neck.
  • As soon as you get out of the car or off the plane, take a few minutes to stretch or return some movement to wherever feels tight. Do some simple calf raises, shake out your ankles, reach your hands above your head, reach for your toes and hold for a bit – anything to wake up some of those sleepy muscles.
